ABOUT US

Crossfire is a four piece band of accomplished musicians that play classic rock songs the way they should be played. Loud and proud.

Crossfire have played venues all over England.

I think a special mention should go out to The Selsey Bill, The Stag's Head at Lyndhurst, The Swiss Chalet in Swindon and Steve's Wedding in Cov.

The Selsey Bill because it was our local and we played their religiously. We had some great nights there. Our thanks go to Jim and Lil for their support.

The Stag's Head at Lyndhurst because we learned never to take a booking from Pete Burley and that places you assume are going to be quiet and sleepy can in fact turn out to put Bagdad to shame. Memories of a very young landlord with a blood stained bandage wrapped round his head  who was a pathological liar and claimed to have been to school with all of us. We opened with "Jailhouse Rock" as the police finally subdued one of the many drunken psychopaths on the floor. All the other gigs seemed tame compared to The Stag's Head. Note to self. Never accept a booking from Pete Burley.

The Swiss Chalet deserves a mention because of all the Friday nights we spent bombing along the M4 in the van trying to get to the gig on time. It was always tight. Once you had made it to Swindon you still had to run the gauntlet of the Magic Roundabout. What idiot came up with the idea for that. It's not traffic control. It's suicide. Then when we did finally  get there it was always a great gig. 3 women for every bloke. Fantastic.

And Steve's Wedding because we have never played so drunk. We played the wedding after driving all night from a gig in Newhaven. We started drinking in the The Peeping Tom at 10 o'clock in the morning. The rest of the day is a bit of a blur. Vague recollections of the swinging trendy vicar conducting the ceremony and Steve with "help" written across the soles of his shoes. We finally got on stage at about 9.00 pm after Mike's band who were supporting us did a blistering set. We were so hammered it was diabolical. Not to mention Gav's emotional crisis. And the strange old ladies selling speed. And the psycho dog at Fez's gaff.
